| ActionScript is an object-oriented language originally developed by Macromedia. ActionScript is not such much of a deal. Actionscript is primarily used for the development of websites and software targeting the Adobe Flash Player platform, used on webpages in the form of embedded SWF files. A cool thing about ActionScript is that the language is open-source. Subsequent versions added functionality allowing for the creation of Web-based games and rich Internet applications with streaming media (such as audio and video). Now, ActionScript is suitable for use in basic robotics like the Make Controller kit and in some database applications. It's so cool that the new version of Actionscript is way much faster than ActionScript 2, like 10 times and good performance also. It's so much better when you can build much faster in a shorter period of time. It is now easy to find a particular feature since the structure of the language has beed re-organised. The Actionscript code is now more modular and extendable which makes it easier to program. Now it's easier to code in AS since the actionscript code is extendable and more modular. Actionscript 3.0 is enjoyable to work with and less buggy. AS3 is far away better than since many bugs of Actionscript 2.0 have be eradicated in Actionscript 3.0 which means there will be less slow downs in your projects. Although some minor bugs still exist. Since I know how to code, I thought AS3 is not so hard to learn. I didnt' understood the basics, altough many things seemed very logical. I would definitely put a good tutorial to good use if it goes step by step through all the ins and outs of ActionScript. If you want to learn about programming with AS3 and Adobe Flash simply do a Google search and you might find a helpful list of resources for getting started. If you ever encounter a problem there is plenty of documentation available on the internet, also there are so many ways to learn about ActionScript and Flash, but also, there are many out there that would be happy to help. A great community of ActionScript, Flash and Flex is FlashForum dot net (a Q&A Forum). There are many articles on the Adobe website offering help and assistance for Actionscript 3.0 It's not hard to notice the potential of this program, and now you can see Flash everywhere; even websites made interely in Flash. Once people began to realize they didn't need a computer science degree to use the program, Flash's popularity exploded. Today, if you're a Flash developer, one thing is certain: Animation skills, no matter how phenomenal, are no longer enough. A firm grasp of ActionScript is essential because without it, only the most elementary interactivity is possible. You can use your knowledge to chat programs, forms and more. Create dynamic projects that respond to the passage of time or the current date. Now you can control the panning and sound volume, dynamically. If you'd like ask a Flash-related question or to help others by answering to their questions you can always take part in this newly created community named FlashForum. I have found that on Flash Forum are many developers that will help you with your code if you encounter any problems. This forum seeks to answer your questions about ActionScript, Flash, as well as giving you ideas on how to improve your projects. As usual, there is never a question too hard or too complex for this community!. | |
